One of the most interesting thing about having a bunch of designers as friends, is realizing how little you actually agree on. Undoubtedly an indication of an industry struggling through adolescence, it’s still quite common to find significant disagreement among experienced practitioners when it comes to topics of process, organization, or even what is and isn’t good design.
Inspired by some of Luke’s ideas, I thought it an worthwhile endeavor to both participate in and record a collection of conversations in the hopes of airing out some of these differences and hopefully moving us all towards at least a more shared vocabulary if not actually a more shared practice.
To wit, the following is a collection of written exchanges between myself and a few of my most respected colleagues and friends.
